Considering MSRP, Sustainability, and Mazda’s brand culture is essential for making practical design decisions. As I reimagine the future of the Mazda CX-5's interior design CMF, it’s crucial to find a balance between staying true to Mazda’s brand identity, incorporating sustainable materials, and most importantly, keeping the MSRP in mind to ensure the design remains practical and accessible.

The tubro signature trim “ Ceremonial Matcha” inspired by the serene hues of ceremonial matcha and the philosophy of Kintsugi—the Japanese art of embracing imperfections—the Mazda's interior design celebrates the beauty of resilience and the power of tranquility.

Material Prototyping Process
To create three material trays that reflect the three trims, I experimented with various techniques to replicate Kintsugi ceramics, sourcing untreated leather from Downtown LA and exploring different pattern sizes to align with my vision.
